Tour Of Duty Run

     

Sunday, August 29, 2010 The 2010 Tour Of Duty Run is well underway as 16 Australian firefighters and 16 American firefighters who are commited to remembering the police officers,military,emergency service workers and firefighters who, lost their lives on September 11, 2001 so others might live.

The 4,620 mile run began on August 12, at the Santa Monica pier in LosAngeles. It will finally end in New york city where the runners will be met with a parade over the Brooklyn Bridge , led by 180 pipers to the Ground Zero site.

Some of the F.D.N.Y. runners with Rescue 2 connections are Captain Liam Flaherty who was a Lt. in Rescue 2 before being promoted to Captain. Firefighter James Dowdell Ladder 174 son of former member Kevin Dowdell who was killed on 9/11, and Firefighter Bryan Bean Engine 310 nephew of Captain Ruvolo Rescue 2 .
